Moving Deflection

Filpula scores in a game vs Washington on March 16th

Here is the breakdown

A. Timing- Notice how Filpula delays off the half way so as he is moving through the slot he is in a good spot to deflect this puck.

B. Re-Direct- He does a great job to angle his stick toward the net, not trying to be to perfect with the deflection.

C. Position of Skates- Notice how he comes above the net and through the slot.  This position gives him a easier angle to deflect the pass from Rafalski.  The result is a very nice play off the slap pass deflected into the net.
