Elias Backdoor play

Elias scores in game vs Ottawa March 8th.

Here is the breakdown

A. Timing- As this puck is below the goal line Elias is timing the play so he is moving into the puck as it is passed out across the crease.

B. Spacing- Notice how far Elias is across the crease.  A good reference point on the ice is to line your stick up between the post and the dot. This will make the goalie come farther across the net allowing more space for you to score.

C. Not A Big Wind Up- Notice how as Elias is moving into the puck and he keeps his stick low to the ice.  He is a very skilled player and one touches this puck to the back of the net.
