Ovechkin Scores off Slap Pass

Ovechkin scores in a game vs Edmonton on March 9th

Here is the breakdown

A. Find A Seam- Notice how as the puck starts to move around and Arnott is getting ready to shoot, Ovechkin is off the side of the net but moves himself so that he is able to receive a pass.  If Arnott does shoot he is also in a good position for a rebound.

B. Deception- As everyone thinks that Arnott is shooting he has his head up and sees Ovechkin on the backside.  He uses a Slap Pass to get the puck hard to Ovechkin.

C. Stop Pass and Shoot- The puck is fired hard to the backdoor, Ovechkin knows that he doesn't have a lot of time but stops the pass first before he shoots. Watch how the hands turn around the puck so he squares his blade to the net.  A great play all around by some skilled players.
