PK Subban executes a perfect open ice hit

A. Timing- The timing to this play is crucial as to early or too late and the offensive player can squeeze by.  He reads the play and closes the gap and times the hit perfect.

B. Body Position- You can see how he uses his body to create contact.  The elbows are kept down and he drives with the legs.  He uses his shoulders to create the contact and deliver a hard check.

C. Do It At Full Speed- This is a better hit because it is done at such a high speed.  Marchand is in full stride and Subban still is able to close the gap quickly and have the hit.  This takes lots of practice to get this timing down.
