Ryder scores in Game 4 against the Canucks May 8th
Here is the breakdown
A. Use the Defenseman as a Screen- As Ryder comes down the ice he has some space to come at the D-man. Instead of trying to beat him 1 on 1 he takes the space and gets close to the D-man. As he gets close it forces Luongo to have to find the puck and the D-man is now a great screen.
B. Pull and Shoot- Ryder stretches the puck out to his forehand side to force Luongo to line up with the puck. He pulls the puck towards his feet to start to get Luongo to move. As he pulls the puck he releases it by the D-mans legs and thru the screen he has created.
C. Not a Perfect Shot- This puck is coming to the net with a different angle and thru a screen. This puck is hard for the goalie to pick up thru traffic. It doesn't have to be a perfect shot if it is on net it has a chance. This is a great goal in a big situation
