Setoguchi Scores on a short one timer
Here is the breakdown
A. Find Open Ice- Watch how he finds a soft spot on the power play away from traffic. He keeps his stick ready and is able to react to the pass as it comes out.
B. Stick Low- When you are this close to the net it is not needed to bring the stick way back. In this area contact is important and because the reaction time is shorter, having the stick in a shooting position is important. Setoguchi does a great job of keeping the stick low and making good contact on the puck.
C. Weight Transfer- This shot is a tough one because it is in a confined space and has to be released so fast. Many players are afraid or embarrassed to fall after they shoot. This shot becomes harder the more you lean on your stick. This may cause players to fall or slide like Setoguchi does after he scores. The result is nothing to be embarrassed about.
