Nash Drives to the Net on the Backhand Side

Rick Nash Scores in a game against Nashville on Feb 22.

Here is the Breakdown

A. Speed Thru Neutral Zone- Nash does a great job of moving his feet through the neutral zone to make the Nashville players turn. He continues his speed so he can beat them wide to the outside.

B. Puck Protection- Notice where Nash puts the puck as he is going to the net.  The puck is moved to the backhand side where it is protected and a Nashville player must get past his body to get to the puck. As he gets close to the net the puck comes back to the forehand side.

C- Strong move and Stop- Nash makes a great move to the forehand and takes the puck all the way across the front of the net.  He know that he is going to get hit in this area and has the courage to get all the way to the far post.  He stops in front instead of coasting to the corner and is rewarded with a goal.
