Some of the best Passing Plays from the NHL last season

Here are some things to watch for:

A.  The is not a lot of Stick Handling- Especially in high traffic areas, when players receive the pass they are looking to move it again.  Players should have an idea of what is going to happen next so once they receive the pass they can move it quicker.

B. Support- In each one of these highlights, there is always someone supporting the puck in a good passing lane.  That makes passing the puck much easier but also receiving the puck much easier.  Having good support allows the puck to move much faster.

C. Pace of Play- How fast the puck moves will dictate how fast the game is played.  When someone hangs onto the puck it will actually sow the pace down.  When teams can pass the puck quickly and receive passes, it forces everyone to move quicker.  There is an old saying "The puck will always move faster then you can." When players can pass the puck well and receive passes in stride, their game will get taken to a higher level.
