Boston Bruins backcheck in a game vs Vancouver on Feb 26th
Here is the breakdown
A. Does Not Stop Skating- Right from when the puck is turned over and the defenseman has to get back, he does not stop moving his feet all the way back to his own net.
B. Angle-As this defenseman is backchecking he is taking away more space from the Vancouver player by putting his stick out and trying to get it to the puck. Notice how the stick is on the ice the entire way down the ice. Your stick will always create your checking angle.
C. Pushing to Backhand Side- On the way back the defenseman notices the Vancouver player is left handed. He stays on the right side of him not allowing him to bring the puck to his forehand. This allows his goaltender to play him to his backhand and makes this an easier save for him.
